Temasek- a long term investor?

I remember Temasek said they have faith in Merill Lynch and is a long term investor. Then, why are they selling Bank of america shares (which they got after Merill was bought by BOA)?

Even worse, they sold it a at loss. They could have waited for better price in this stock bullish run to sell if they are so desperate for more money.

Will GIC be next? They also said they are long term investor in Citigroup. Once their preferred shares are being converted to ordinary shares, will they also cut loss?

Long term investor is a misused word nowadays.
